John Ellis

Having been surrounded by the ocean for most of his life, the normally reclusive and very private artist, John Ellis, has been creating various artworks over the last three decades.

​

Inspired heavily by his love for nature (the ocean and water in particular), Ellis' work gives the impression of both immense size and utter stillness. Breathing life into his preferred medium of oil paintings, Ellis captures nostalgic moments from throughout his life; from the early days living on the North Welsh coast to his extensive travels around the world to later taking inspiration from the Scottish Borders where he now resides.
